WHAT I ATE -VIRGINIA @ Chima Brazilian Steakhouse, Tysons Corner, VA My wife treated me to brunch for birthday at Chima in Mclean VA. We're both fans of Brazilian Charasqueria Rodizio style steakhouses for the variety of tasty grilled meats like Picanha (Top Sirloin), Lamb Chops, Short Ribs and more! My wife especially likes lambchops! and Chima has the best lambchops of the Brazilian steakhouses in Northern VA. I go for the Picanha and at Chima, I discovered my new favorite to be their Jalapeno Picanha. We got reservations for the first sitting just as the restarant opened at 11:30. We were a bit surprised as we lost track of time and we left the restaurant at 2:30PM! The service is excellent and the restaurant is well-layed out wth intersting architecture and decor. Our attendant checked up on us frequently and was able to steer some of our favorite meats over to our table in short order. The Salad Bar has a great variety and the soups and salads are good. Though I was looking for a traditional Feijoada, they instead had a Black Bean and Pork Soup which was good. I found the pork a bit dry, but the sausage in the soup made up for it. The rolls were also very good. Not sure if they are baked onsite though. This visit was for MY birthday, but my wife expects me to bring her here for HER birthday later this year! We're both looking forward to it! VIDEO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fdlSOcqjxg&pp=ygUYY2hpbWEgc3RlYWtob3VzZSB0eXNvbnMg

It's one of my favorite steakhouses! I usually come here for a birthday or private party event. I will breakdown this review for easier comparison. Ambiance: Dim setting with modern aesthetic fixtures. The eatablishment is surrounded by windows but doesn't get much sunlight during the day. Very spacious but some areas is a little clustered. They are able to hold small and large parties as well private parties. The bar area is probably the most brightest and also spacious. Includes lounge chairs and high tops. Food: Variety of meats! The rancheros will ask you if you want it med, well-done, rare, etc. The salad bar is much larger and has a variety of cold meats, salads, fruits and soup options. The sauces is even included in the Salad bar (compared to fogo). Dessert is a separate menu. The cost varies pending what you chose. More variety to select from. Price: $52+ Dress: semi casual to business casual. Sometimes formal Parking: Valet or self Parking; fee

Food - I have always preferred Chima over other Brazilian steakhouses, but I still think the Tyson's Chima offers the best quality meat out of all the other Brazilian steakhouses in rhetorical DMV. - All the beef options are well-seasoned but not over seasoned, are good cuts of meat, and cooked nicely. - The salmon and shrimp are surprisingly very, very good as well. - Generally skip the chicken and lamb offerings as they are relatively not as good. - The salad bar and hot sides are not as good as Fogo, but still good. This is the one area where I think Fogo has Chima beat, but I still would choose Chima because of the meat quality. Service - Dined in July 2024 with a party 20+. - Service was excellent. Side dishes continuously refilled. The meats were all rotated through quickly. At other steakhouses, I've found myself waiting for the servers to come around with the good cuts. Even with a party of 20+, all the meats made 2-3 rounds each within 1 hour. Ambiance - Nice interior. Nothing too fancy but nice enough if trying to celebrate something.

Beef ribs were the best cut in my opinion. So tender and juicy. The filet mignon only came in medium or well done. For the cut, it was a little dry. The ribeye was tender and so were the lamb chops. I usually hate lamb but these did not taste gamey at all. The shrimp were also super succulent and I enjoyed the garlic sirloin flavor. Also the cheese bread!! So good and I loved the spread. Delicious food although a little pricey. The Brazilian steakhouse experience is fun though. I think individual dishes at other restaurants may taste better but you won't get ther variety or experience that you would here. Recommend checking out this style of dining. Unfortunately, the service was not as attentive as it could have been. We waited at least 5-10 minutes before a server came to us which was unexpected for a high end restaurant like this. We had to grab our own plates from the salad bar and our water wasn't filled until after we already started eating. The small plates (aside from the bread) weren't served until well into our meal. Additionally, there's no free parking by the restaurant and costs $5 to valet your car. They take cash or card.

Chima does the standard rodizio experience well. The meats are generally well cooked and well seasoned. You can sometimes get the short end of the stick on a specific cut but as a medium rare enthusiast, I find the range of doneness on the meats to be acceptable. The salad bar is stocked with fresh food to keep you from overdosing on meat. The best items at this place for me are the pineapple, shrimp, and the grilled cheese surprisingly. Of course the picahna is amazing as well. My only gripe with this establishment is the variety of meats that get walked around isn't that high. You need to ask specifically for certain cuts, or you'll never see them pass your table. For some reason, the chicken and sausage will always return, but the pineapple is never offered until I beg.

Located in Tysons Corner. At Chima you go to the buffet to pick the sides you want to pair with the meat that is served. They come around to your table with a variety of meats that you can have. You also have a table card to indicate where you want more food or not so the waiters know whether to offer you more meat.

Updating my review as I finally had a chance to visit on my on terms (last time was a wedding). Though we made reservations, the restaurant didn't get busy until after 730. The hostesses greeted us with a smile and our waiter Joao Victor took such great care of us. He was very knowledgeable and gave good suggestions based on our feedback. Loved the variety of meat + seasoning and they really know how to keep the meat going! Great margaritas true to their name.

Recently dined at Chima for my husband's birthday and we very much enjoyed our family dinner. They added some new items that we hadn't seen before since the last time we've been about a year ago. Some of our favorites: Picanha, Cinnamon Pineapple, Cheese Bread, flank steak, Brazilian limeade (soooo good)
